About the University

V. V. Giri University came into existence on 6 July 2026 pursuant to the notification issued by the Government of Bihar vide Gazette Notification No. 776. The establishment of the University was approved by the Bihar Legislative Assembly and subsequently received the assent of the Hon’ble Governor of Bihar on 15 July 2026. The University has been established in the name of V. V. Giri University, with its campus located at Chintamanpur, Daraundha, Siwan, Bihar.

The establishment of the University marks an important milestone in the advancement of higher education in Bihar and reflects a commitment to providing quality, inclusive, multidisciplinary and future-oriented education to the youth of the region and beyond.

V. V. Giri University is an emerging multidisciplinary institution of higher learning with the vision of providing quality, accessible and future-oriented education. The University seeks to create a dynamic academic environment that combines knowledge, professional competence, innovation, research and human values.

Named in honour of Bharat Ratna Dr. V. V. Giri, former President of India and a distinguished national leader, the University is inspired by the ideals of education, dignity of labour, social justice, leadership and service to society. It aims to provide students with opportunities to develop academic knowledge, professional skills, confidence and a strong sense of responsibility.

V. V. Giri University is envisioned as a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary University, bringing together diverse areas of study under one academic framework.
